Hope In the Digital Age: Implementing Jurgen Moltmann’s Theology in the Mission of The HKBP Church

Abstrak

This paper aims to show the implementation of the theology of hope according to Jürgen Moltmann in the mission of the HKBP Church in the life of the congregation in the digital era. In the digital era, humans experience injustice, despair, disappointment, suffering and social injustice. There are so many technological advances that make humans lose their existence. 
In exploring human suffering in the digital era, reflecting on the theology of hope in living the mission of the HKBP church in the life of the congregation needs to be done properly. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. This method divides this research into three parts. First, the Concept of the Theology of Hope based on Jurgen Moltmann‟s Perspective. Second, Understanding the Mission of the HKBP Church. Third, Implementation of the Theology of Hope in the HKBP Mission: The Spirit of Struggle and Hope of the HKBP Mission with Christ. The results of this study are that the theology of hope according to Jurgen Moltmann can be implemented in the life of the congregation in order to realize the Mission of the HKBP Church in the digital era through an attitude full of love and gratitude with new hope with Christ who revolutionizes and transforms the present into a blessing for others.
